Advisory Board – Pan Valley Institute

Jose Eduardo Chavez is a Mixtec Indigenous immigrant from Oaxaca, Mexico, raised in Madera, California. With a deep-rooted commitment to social justice, equity, and community empowerment, he has built an extensive career in community outreach, program management, and intercultural communication.  

Chavez serves as a Regional Program Manager at Richard Heath and Associates, Inc, a Planning Commissioner for the City of Madera, and a Board Member at The San Joaquin River Conservancy. His work spans multiple sectors, including public health, environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and community development.  His work includes community development in Guatemala and humanitarian efforts at the US-Mexico border.
